On 28 February 1993 in Waco, Texas, a community went into armed rebellion against the police who came with a warrant for the arrest of David Koresh its leader. The police faced strong armed resistance, resulting in several deaths on both sides on the first day. Following this failure, the FBI took over. On 19 April 1993, after 51 days of siege and several attempts at negotiation, the FBI stormed the compound. All the members of the sect, more than 70 people including 21 children, perished in a huge fire. David Koresh preached Doomsday, the apocalypse and the refusal to live by the American model. He got his apocalypse in Waco! Amazing, isn’t it?
